Ace director Mani Ratnam last directed the 2018 gangster drama ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’, and it received good reviews. The skilled director is currently working on his dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, and the film started rolling late last year. But the film work was halted like all other films, due to the pandemic. Now, the latest report according to an online portal is that Mani Ratnam will do a romantic film before shooting for ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ resumes.
Several schedules of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ were completed, and next, Mani Ranam has planned to shoot war sequences for the film in the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. But it is more unlikely to shoot war sequences with a large number of artists after the lockdown, and so as per reports, there might be a delay in resuming the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ shoot. So, Mani Ratnam has reportedly decided to finish a romantic film in the break and is planning to rope in Aravind Swami for the lead role. The official announcement about the film is expected to be made soon, and it is said to start rolling as soon as the lockdown ends.
It is worth noting that Mani Ratnam revealed in his recent live chat that he is working on the script of one more film, and assured it would be a romantic one. Looks like this is the same one! However, we must wait and watch out for the official announcement.
