Story:

Prabhu a food delivery guy who leads a peaceful life with his wife (Indhu) who has left their family and get married. One fine day he gets involved in a dispute & with a Policemen & due to the tussle with policemen his life takes upside down and gets worse. What occurs next is the crux of the story.

Performance:

Suresh Ravi has delivered natural & realistic acting and Raveena Ravi has excelled in her performance as Indhu is convincing & both the lead performers connected emotionally well with the audience.  Mime gopi excels in the role of Cop character (Kannabiran) as an antagonist is the breadwinner for the film, In terms of performance, KUN satisfies and upgrades the level of the film.

Review:

KUN is promoted as a film based on the true story whereas the film sticks upon to the raw & hard-hitting factor that used for promotions, interestingly the screenplay knits together its events, but at the same time, this film gives some amateurish feel in terms of making & some commercial added elements which bring dull moments in the second half. RDM as the director has done some research work and delivered with some splendid writing where some dialogues have to be applauded,  “Naanga public servant dhaan aanaa public dhaan engalukku servant… Appadi aagipochu,” but the film fails to give an impression of what Visaranai gave us.  Though Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban isn’t as visually hard-hitting as Visaranai the emotional intensity is somewhat similar to the latter.

Crew:

Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban has a functional score and good cinematography to complement the visuals. Cuts from Vimal raj could’ve been more crisper it could have made the film better.

Overall:

A chilling parable of abuse of power by the authority against an innocent common man. Brutally engaging. Simple story & hard-hitting dialogues along with emotions makes this film a good watch. Narration could’ve been better.

Realistic & Hard-hitting Drama, Deserves a watch!

Movie Rating – 3 / 5.
