Santhanam falls in love with Vaibhavi Shandilya at his first sight. Vaibhavi’s brother is against their love. How Santa plays a drama game to marry his girl forms the remaining story.
Santhanam looks stylish and fit for action sequences. Vaibhavi Shandilya has done her job correctly and being an outstation girl’s debut, her lip-sync is proper. Robo Shankar appears in few scenes but his humor actually clicks. Two scenes towards the end have come out well as they offer few genuine laughs. STR’s debut musical stands as the pillar for the movie, all the five songs are solid and works commercially. His background music is also decent, he has scored finely in both mass and love scenes. Abhinandhan Ramanujam has given his best and has made the movie visually nice.
GL.Sethuraman’s direction and his treatment style is amateurish, the way he has tried to show Santhanam as a mass hero is poor. Script is extremely old and the main concept is a much seen one in Tamil cinema. Screenplay is totally a crashing bore as the laughter quotient is too low in the flow. Dialogues have zero life as no point they excite. Audience are literally fooled as the word ‘logic’ goes missing during the process. Also the amount of filthy moments the movie carries is sure annoy any sort of viewer. Santhanam’s counter attack fails to engage us by a huge margin. Vaibhavi Shandilya and Sanjana Singh are used cheaply in many portions just to spice up with glamour. Vivek’s comedy is very artificial and also his facial reactions are draining movie by movie. VTV Ganesh’s presence makes no difference as he doesn’t give us any rejoicing moments. Sampath is the main villain, his character is too weak with an old-school conflict. Also his role and acting in the second half is totally senseless. There will be more than thousand movies which have the same plot like this product, an utterly lethargic presentation damages the show. Anthony’s editing is okay but he can’t be blamed for the director’s fault.
Viewers completely taken for granted, an extremely boring mindless so called entertainer.
Movie Rating – 1.75/ 5.
